Jesus spoke to the Crowds about the Kingdom of God

Luke 9:11-17

This week’ Gospel reminds us that we Catholics are nourished by the body and blood of Christ each time we participate in the Eucharist. We all recall the miracle of the five loaves and two fish magnified by the Holy Spirit which fed five thousand people.

A similar miracle happened last week within our school community. Our students were told that the St. Vincent de Paul cupboards were empty. Students, led by the student council, answered the call to reach out and help those in need. I must share with you that my faith was strengthened when I witnessed our St. Clare School families fill food barrels! I saw the Holy Spirit work each time a student or parent placed canned or boxed goods into the barrels. I am so proud of this community.

When others tell me there are no miracles happening in the present time all I have to do is share this miracle with them.

Peace,
Madeline Rader

Eighth Grade Dinner Dance

Wednesday night, the Eighth Graders celebrated their last whole class liturgy with Father Paolo Gobbo and Father George Mancha. After the student-led liturgy, the class of 2010 and their families enjoyed a dinner, watched the eighth grade slide show, posed for photos and danced the night away.

A special thank you to the Seventh Grade families for making this night such a success!

Thursday, June 11, is our Last Day of School. At 10:30am, all classes will meet in the church for our end-of-year prayer service. At this time, we will honor the students who are moving away from our school community. At the end of the prayer service, K-7th students visit the class they will enter in August for a short introduction to their new teacher(s) and classroom.

The all-school BBQ lunch will be held from 12:00 to 12:30 in the picnic area behind the Rectory. All are welcome!

Please remember that Cool Kids Zone will not be open after school on this day.

Student Council

The faculty and staff of St. Clare School thank the 2009-2010 council members for their hard work and commitment this past year. Their Silver Box behaviors and Catholic-Christian spirit is an inspiration to all in our community!

The faculty and staff look forward to working with our 2010-2011 council members. Congratulations!

Changes

It is that time of year when schools announce staffing changes. St. Clare School has a announcement for our community for next year.

Father Paolo Gobbo will begin his new assignment as Parochial Vicar at St. Patrick Proto-Cathedral Parish in San Jose on July 1. Let us pray for him and thank Fr. Paolo for his service to the community of St. Clare.

Jessica Shute will move on to pursue educational and new opportunity. We will miss her and we know that you join us in thanking Jessi for her two years of service to St. Clare School. We are sure that she will be well received in her new work environment.
