Second Collection Sunday

Dear St. Clare Community,

You are such a blessing. Your generous and thoughtful contribution to our school in the May second collection totaled $3,500. We appreciate your generosity and we want you to know that these gifts will be carefully and thoughtfully used to maintain and enhance the quality of our educational facilities in support of our important work in Catholic education. Each day faculty, staff and students’ work is facilitated by your kind and generous support.

In gratitude,
Madeline Rader

Memorial Mass

“Lord God, Your love has called us here as we, by love, for love, were made.” -- Brian Wren

Throughout the day on Tuesday, June 1, our school community will remember and celebrate the lives of our late colleagues and friends Brian Hegarty and Lu Guidici.

Friends of Brian Hegarty invite the community to join them in a special mass celebrating his life. Fr. Rick Rodoni will offer this mass at 6:00pm at St. Clare Church.

Sports Banquet

Tuesday, May 18, our school held the annual Student Sports Banquet. As always, it began with a blessing. This year, Ashley O., Student Council Director of Religion, led the community in prayer. The dinner consisted of crisp salad, savory spaghetti with meatballs, bread and refreshments. For dessert we had a choice of chocolate or vanilla cake. After a satisfying dinner, we enjoyed listening to two guest speakers. Dustin Kerns, SCU Assistant Men's Basketball Coach, and a SCU student-athlete spoke about the importance of hard work, good attitude, sportsmanship and team work. How wonderful to hear from individuals who mirror our Catholic values and support our Silver Box program!

Special “Most Inspirational” and “Most Improved” awards were presented to athletes on each sports team. These special awards also tie in with our Silver Box program.

The Sports Banquet is an event that our students, parents, faculty and staff members look forward to every year. We are grateful for the school community who helped plan and deliver this special event. Thank you to all the students who participated in volleyball, basketball, and track this year. Congratulations to our Silver Box athletes!

Class of 2010

On Thursday, June 3, at 6:00pm, our Eighth Grade class will graduate from St. Clare School. We ask that you pray for continued academic success for our 2010 graduates. We pray that the Holy Spirit will guide them in their future academic endeavors.

In gratitude,
Madeline Rader
